Former economy minister named top S. Korean envoy in Russia

SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) -- Lee Youn-ho, former minister of Knowledge Economy, was
named new South Korean ambassador to Russia in a reshuffle of senior diplomats,
the foreign ministry said Thursday.

Lee served as the knowledge economy minister from early 2008 until September last
year.
The ministry also said Choo Kyu-ho, a career diplomat now working at a state-run
think tank on international affairs, will head the South Korean embassy in
London. The appointments are part of a regular reshuffle involving more than a
dozen diplomats, ministry officials said.
Former ministry spokesperson Moon Tae-young was named as South Korean ambassador
to Germany, while Park Sang-ki, former special ambassador on terrorism, will head
the South Korean mission in Geneva, they said. Oh Joon, a former aide to the
foreign minister in 2007, will head the South Korean embassy in Singapore, they
said.
