GS Caltex returns to profit in 2009

SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) -- GS Caltex Co., South Korea's second-largest oil
refiner, said Thursday that its swung back into the black last year on
currency-related gains.

Net profit reached 653 billion won (US$593 million) last year, compared with a
loss of 290 billion won a year earlier, it said.
Sales plunged 24 percent to 26.09 trillion won over the cited period, while
operating income gained 1.5 percent to 694 billion won.
