Yemen accession to WTO in 2010

SANA'A, Jan. 29 (Saba) - Signing the agreement of
joining Yemen to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will be prior to the end of
2010, Ministers
of Industry and Trade Yahay al-Mutawakel.
Upon his arrival to Sana'a after his participation in the seventh round of WTO in
Geneva, al-Mutawakel said that Yemen and the WTO have agreed on a timeframe to the
accession
of Yemen into the WTO in 2010.
The WTO eighth work group is to be convened in July to complete the bilateral
agreements and the pending issues, he said.
The minister said that he held, on the sidelines of the WTO seventh round meetings,
bilateral meetings with the negotiating countries, topped by the United States,
European
Union, Canada, Japan and South Korea.
The meetings discussed supporting each country to Yemen's accession to the
organization soon.
