REVENUES OF TOURISM INCREASED IN 2009

SANA'A, Jan. 30 (Saba)- Revenues of tourism increased up to $ 899
million last year compared to $ 886 million in 2008 at increase of $
13 million.

A report of tourism ministry showed that 1,024,000 tourists visited
Yemen in 2009 from different nationalities.

42,202 tourists visited Yemen last year from Europe at increase of
19 percent compared to 2008, the report said. But, the report said
that number of tourists came from Middle East and two Americans
decreased at 10 and 1 percent respectively.

An official source at the ministry of tourism attributed increase of
visitors from Europe to efforts of the ministry to promote for
tourism in European markets and decrease of tourists from two
Americans because of security situation and terror attacks happened
in Yemen last year.
