YEMEN, US TALKS ON COOPERATION IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FIELDS

ADEN, Jan. 30 (Saba) - Yemen and US held on Saturday talks over
mutual cooperation aspects and bilateral relations in fields of
economic development.

Aden Local Council Secretary General Abdul-Karim Shaif briefed the
Political attaché in US embassy in Sana'a Faith Meyer on Aden's
economic, cultural and developmental activities during 2009 and the
future projects, which will be implemented in development,
investment, culture and tourism fields during 2010.

He hailed the efforts made by the US in supporting Yemen and its
policy in different fields including combating terrorism and
improving the economic development to handle all Yemen's economic
problems, topped by poverty and unemployment.

Shaif indicated to the importance of supporting the tourism sector
in Yemen in general and in Aden in particular, saying that this
vital sector assists in the comprehensive development.

For her part, the US official hailed the development in various
fields in Yemen, affirming that the US will enhance the cooperation
relations between the two countries.
