German president to visit Seoul next month

SEOUL, Jan. 31 (Yonhap) -- German President Horst Kohler plans to visit Seoul
from Feb. 7-10 to hold a summit with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, Lee's
office said Sunday.
The two leaders are expected to discuss issues related to the G-20 summit, to be
held in November in Seoul, and how to promote cooperation to make Seoul's free
trade deal with the European Union go into effect as soon as possible, according
to the presidential office.
South Korea and the EU initialed a free trade deal in October last year, and the
accord is expected to be officially signed before March.
The two also plan to exchange views on enhancing bilateral trade and investment,
as well as a wide range of measures to increase cooperation in energy and green
growth, it added.
