Dr. Khoja Opens SPA Training Center 6 Riyadh

Referring to the new headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency in Riyadh city, Dr.
Khoja said it will
become a great media edifice.

"Nevertheless, we will help brothers of SPA to develop the national news agency
into one of the most modern news agencies around the world and make it fully
capable of matching with the best globally in terms of news coverage and
technological progress," he added.

Dr Khoja underscored the importance of the Information Training Center of SPA
and preparation of press cadres as well as development of personal
capabilities, and said training has become an essential matter and one of the
basic requirements of press works.

He also underscored the importance of training in the field of news and press
photography through organization of training courses and foreign scholarships.

The News Editor and the reporter working in SPA should have a good command of
more than one language in addition to the mother tongue, the Arabic language,
and that this specified goal will only be realized through scholarships and
training.

Asked to comment if SPA's Information Training Center will include editors of
local newspapers and various media organs, Dr Khoja said 'that depends on the
programs of SPA and its plans', adding that the media organs are complementary
to each other.
