Verdict in Yahya al Houthi case expected Saturday

SANA'A, Feb. 03 (Saba) - The State
Penal Court is set to deliver a verdict in the case of terrorist rebel Yahya al
Houthi
next Saturday.
On October 26, the trial of al Houthi, an escapee wanted rebel currently living in
Germany, opened with charges filed against him including forming an armed gang in
Saada
that committed criminal and illegal acts in many parts of the republic.
The charges also included that al Houthi provided various weapons, communications
and transportation for his terrorist group members to carry out subversion.
The gang killed the people and troops, looted public properties, planed to attack
diplomats including the U.S. ambassador in Sana'a, broke the law, spread
misinformation
and was seeking help from foreigners who already provided the gang with funds,
prosecutors charged.
On the other hand, investigations of two Houthi gangs of 26 members have been
completed, with the suspects to be turned over to the court soon.
The members were arrested in Saada areas.
Yahya al Houthi is the brother of the rebel leader Abdul Malik al Houthi who was
killed in 2004 during the battles with army in Saada.
He was an MP and accused of supporting and the rebels and taking part in the fight
against the army. He then fled to Germany.
His parliamentary immunity was revoked in October last year.
