S. Korea`s FIFA ranking up 3 notches to 49th
SEOUL, Feb. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's FIFA ranking moved up three notches to
49th in February, the world's governing body of football said Wednesday.
The country came in third among teams from Asia and Oceania, with Australia and
Japan ranking 23rd and 40th, respectively, FIFA said.
Argentina, Greece and Nigeria, which are grouped with South Korea in the 2010
World Cup finals in South Africa, ranked 8th, 12th and 15th, respectively, it
said.
Spain retained its top spot, trailed by Brazil and the Netherlands. North Korea
stood at 85th place.
