S. Korea, Ecuador to hold friendly in May

SEOUL, Feb. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will play a warm-up match with Ecuador in
May, a month before the World Cup kicks off, football officials here said
Thursday.
"South Korea and Ecuador agreed to hold a friendly, though we haven't signed a
contract yet," said an official at the Korea Football Association.
The Ecuador Football Federation also said on its Web site that its national team
will have a friendly match with South Korea in Seoul on May 16.
The South Korean team, grouped with Argentina, Greece and Nigeria at the 2010
South Africa World Cup, is also scheduled to play pre-World Cup warm-ups with the
Ivory Coast in March, Japan in May and Spain in June.
Ecuador failed to advance to the World Cup finals after finishing sixth in the
South American regional qualifying round.
