BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY LEAVES SANA'A
SANA'A, Feb.04 (Saba) - The British Foreign Secretary Ivan Lewis left Sana'a on Thursday after a several-day visit to Yemen ,during which he met with President Ali Abdullah Saleh and a number of senior Yemeni officials.
In a statement to Saba, Lewis affirmed the importance of the role that should be undertaken by the international community in supporting Yemen to address its problems, especially the economic ones.
"We address the economic problems that face Yemen, especially through the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program", the British official said.
He noted to the UK's role in supporting the Yemeni people and government and its developmental program for this year which amounts to $40 million, pointing that the British support to Yemen represented in fields of education, trade and industry and counterterrorism.
