RUPIAH SIGNIFICANTLY WEAKENS AGAINST US DOLLAR
Jakarta, Feb. 5 (ANTARA) - The rupiah significantly weakened against the US dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market, here on Friday morning and passed the level of Rp9,400 per US dollar.
The Indonesian currency traded Rp9,405-Rp9,415 per US dollar, down 90 points from Rp9,325-Rp9,335 per US dollar at the market's close a day earlier.
The rupiah was affected by the Wall Street losses as investors were worried over the economic problems in the US and Europe, according to Krisna Dwi Setiawan.***
