15 years in prison for Yahya al-Houthi

SANA'A, Feb. 06 (Saba)- A terrorist Yahya
al-Houthi, was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in jail after he was found guilty
by the
penal court of Sana'a on Saturday.
Al Houthi was convicted of leading a terrorist armed group which involved in
"terrorist acts", "attacked the constitutional powers," "projected to assassinate
public
figures, including the ambassador of the United States in Sana'a," the spread of
"biased information" and "contacts with foreign parties." On October 26, the trial
of al
Houthi, an escapee wanted rebel currently living in Germany, was started.
Yahya al Houthi is the brother of the rebel leader Hussein al Houthi who was killed
in 2004 during the battles with army in Saada.
He was an MP and accused of supporting and the rebels and taking part in the fight
against the army. He then fled to Germany.
His parliamentary immunity was revoked in October last year.
