President Lee's brother-in-law dies of heart disease

SEOUL, Feb. 7 (Yonhap) -- A brother-in-law of President Lee Myung-bak, Kim
Jae-jeong, died after a long battle with heart disease at a Seoul hospital
Sunday, officials at the presidential office Choeng Wa Dae said. He was 61.
Kim, who had been treated for cardiac infarction after suffering diabetes and
renal insufficiency since January last year, died around 7:15 a.m. at Seoul
National University Hospital.
Kim, the younger brother of first lady Kim Yoon-ok, came into the spotlight
during the 2007 presidential election campaign when he was suspected of having
managed property owned by Lee, then a presidential hopeful, via an alias bank
account. Kim was cleared of the allegation in an independent counsel probe.
