MWL Secretary General receives Indian Islamic University delegation

Makkah, February 07, 2010, SPA -- Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulmohsen Al Turki, The
Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) received at its headquarters
in Makkah, an academic delegation from Islamic University at Shantapuram in
the Malappuram district, Kerala, India, headed by the University's rector Dr.
Abdulsalam Al Mutawakel.


The University established in 2003, is an extension of Shantapuram Islamiya
College, established in 1955.

During the reception, Dr. Al Turki was briefed on the University's objectives
in the dissemination of Islamic culture, the approach of moderation among
Muslims, particularly students who are studying at the University's colleges.


The University is comprised of six colleges including the College of Sharia,
(Islamic Law), the Faculty of Islamic Fundamentals, the Faculty of Dawah, the
Faculty of Languages and the College of the Holy Quran, in addition to the
Islamic College for Girls, the rector elaborated in his briefing.
