Imports of Korean goods restricted most in India in Dec.


SEOUL, Feb. 8 (Yonhap) -- Of global trade barriers against South Korean goods in
December, India had the most with 22 percent of all limitations on imports, a
local trade association said Monday.

During the reported month, a total of 122 import restrictions on South Korean
goods were imposed by 19 countries, with India imposing import limitations on 27
products of the country, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)
said.
The number of import restrictions on South Korean products rose by 10 last
December from a year ago, while it fell by 7 compared with July last year.
China levied restrictions on imports of 20 South Korean goods, followed by the
United States with 15, Turkey with nine and Russia with eight.
South Korean chemical products topped the list of import restrictions in foreign
countries with 46, trailed by steel with 29 and textiles with 21.
Most new import restrictions on South Korean products were imposed by emerging
countries including India, Pakistan and Russia in December, KOTRA said.
