Lotte likely to acquire GS discount stores
SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Yonhap) -- Lotte Group, a South Korean conglomerate, is likely to buy the discount and department stores put up for sale by GS Holdings, a local holding company, industrial sources said Tuesday.
Lotte Group is in talks with GS Holdings to acquire the 14 discount stores and
three department stores under GS Retail, the holding company's retail unit, and
has beat other potential buyers, they said.
The deal for the acquisition of the high-end and discount retail stores is
estimated to fetch between 1.2 trillion won (US$1 billion) and 1.4 trillion won.
