Daewoo International to venture into farming, bio energy business
SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- Daewoo International Corp., a South Korean trading company, said Wednesday that it plans to launch a farming and bio energy-related business in a bid to help boost growth.
Daewoo International is already involved in a series of oil and gas development
projects.
The company said it will soon launch projects to secure grains, soybeans, corn
and other agricultural products, and expand businesses in the resource-rich
Southeast Asian region.
Creditors of Daewoo International are seeking to sell a controlling stake in the
trading company. They plan to pick a prime bidder for Daewoo International within
the first half of this year.
