Saudi Food and Drug Authority Withdraws Product "Sibutramine" from Markets

Riyadh, February 10, 2010, SPA -- Saudi Food and Drug Authority has announced
the cancellation of registration of product "Sibutramine" in all its commercial
names in the Kingdom "Reductil" and "Sibutral" and their withdrawal from the
markets.


In a statement issued today, the Authority said that European Medicines Agency
" EMEA" has suspended the license of the product "Sibutramine" based on the
study of the product which shows that it poses danger to health in addition to
its serious side effects which increase the risks for cardiovascular disease.
