Support of girls` enrollment in technical education discussed

- Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Ibrahim Hajri discussed
here
on Saturday the International Labour Organization (ILO)'s delegation issues relating
to the mechanism for implementation of the awareness project to support girls'
enrollment
in the technical and vocational education.
The project to be launched within the next weeks aims to change the social negative
view on the girls' education and training and to encourage them to join the
programs
of technical education and vocational training.
In the meeting, the two sides pointed the importance of strengthening the
partnership between the girls' education sector and the organization to implement
the project which
includes preparation of six awareness TV flashes and a documentary film on the
importance of technical and vocational education for the girls.
It also includes holding a workshop to workshop to draw out awareness messages
based on Yemeni prospective and another workshop to discuss the media documents and
assess
their effectiveness in the Yemeni society.
In the meeting, Hajri valued the efforts exerted by the ILO to support the programs
of the technical education and vocational training, especially with regard to the
social
awareness of the importance of girls' enrollment in the technical and vocational
education programs across the country.
He affirmed that the project is a part of a big awareness program lasting until the
end of this year.
