S. Korea`s Lee takes gold in short-track 1,500-meter event
VANCOUVER, Feb. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Lee Jung-soo won the men's
short-track 1,500-meter event at the Winter Olympics on Saturday, bringing his
country its first gold medal in Vancouver.
Lee clocked 2:17.611 while Apolo Anton Ohno of the United States finished in
2:17.976 to take the silver. J.R. Celski of the U.S. took the bronze with a time
of 2:18.053.
Lee, 21, entered the race with two other South Korean skaters -- Sung Si-bak and
Lee Ho-suk -- who clashed with each other in the final stretch.
