Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Opens and Addresses Jeddah Economic Forum 2 Jeddah

Lauding the moderate policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Khalid
Al-Faisal said without its wise efforts to tackle the problem of the acute
increase of oil prices in 2008, the world economy would have been adversely
affected including the economies of the oil exporting nations.


He said the Kingdom has been positively contributing to extending assistance to
the poor countries, adding that economic development is an essential matter for
combating poverty and unemployment as well as for enhancing stability and
security.


Prince Khalid Al-Faisal noted that the Kingdom has been spending more than 25
percent of its income on education because it believes in the importance of
education and the role of the youth in the development of the country.


It is hoped that the Forum will yield positive results and issue applicable
recommendations, he said.
