Dr Assaf: Beneficiaries of 'Kafala Program' gets SR1,070 Million in Loans

Riyadh, February 14, 2010, SPA -- Minister of Finance Dr Ibrahim Al-Assaf has
underlined the importance of the loans being extended by the commercial banks
under the umbrella of 'Kafala program' and said this constitutes the
contribution of the private sector to the development of the national economy.


He disclosed that the program since its commencement in 2006, has been
witnessing steady development and the number of the establishments which have
benefited from the program up to end of 2009 amounted to 769 receiving loans
amounting to SR1,070 million.


Dr Assaf said the contribution of the banks in carrying out the program
embodies their important role in supporting the national economy.
