Jinro to buy back, cancel 500,000 shares

SEOUL, Feb. 16 (Yonhap) -- Jinro Ltd., South Korea's biggest manufacturer of the
popular distilled beverage soju, said Tuesday that it will buy back and cancel
500,000 of its common shares worth 18 billion won (US$15.6 million) as part of
its efforts to prop up overall share prices.
Jinro will implement the buyback from Thursday through Tuesday next week, the
company said in a regulatory filing.
Shares were priced at 36,000 won each as of the market's close on Friday, Jinro
said.
