OIC Chief receives Japan's Ambassador

Jeddah, February 16, 2010, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of the
Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has received in his office
at the OIC headquarters here, Japan's ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Shigoru Endo and its Consul General in Jeddah Toshimitsu Ishigure.


Ambassador Endo briefed Secretary General on Japan's approach to the Middle
East Peace Process and relations between Japan and the Palestinian National
Authority particularly on the "Corridor for Peace and Prosperity" initiative
which aims at creating a viable Palestinian economy based on private sector
activities through establishing agro-industrial park in the West-Bank. He also
mentioned Japan's new assistance package to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
