Samsung C&T to build solar power plants in U.S.

SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Yonhap) -- Samsung C&T Corp., a South Korean construction and
trading firm, said Wednesday that it will construct solar power-plants in the
U.S. state of California in partnership with Solar Managers, a U.S. energy firm.
The 130-megawatts plants will be completed by 2013 by Solar Project Solutions, a
joint venture between Samsung C&T and Solar Managers, said Min Byeong-hoon, a
spokesman for the South Korean company.
Samsung C&T has signed a deal with Pacific Gas and Electric, the California
utility company, to sell electricity late last year, Min said.
Samsung C&T will operate the plant for 25 years after its completion.
