LG launches skinny frame PDP TVs in Korea

SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc., the world's second-largest TV
maker, said Wednesday it has released a plasma-display projection (PDP) TV with a
skinny frame that produces sharper images.
The image created by the 2.07 megapixel PDP TV is significantly brighter and
twice as clear that of the older 1.04 megapixel models, LG Electronics said.
A 25-millimeter-wide bezel also causes the screen to look larger than that of
other products the same size, the company added.
The new TV has an improved voice system and light sensors that automatically
adjust brightness as well as energy efficiency, helping save up to 60 percent of
power consumption.
The 50- and 60-inch models were priced at 1.7 million won (US$1,485) and 3.8
million won, respectively, it said.
