Iran will be a worthy opponent vs. U.S.
TEHRAN, March 11 (MNA) -- Iran basketball coach Veselin Matic said on Wednesday that the Persians will make effort to be a laudable team against the U.S. in the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
Iran has been drawn in Group B along with Croatia, Brazil, Tunisia, Slovenia and the U.S.
“Iran has the power to defeat Tunisia so we must definitely beat them. Our team must train diligently to get a good result against the African team. Iran will endeavor to be an admirable rival for the U.S., Brazil and Slovenia, who are powerful teams and have players in the NBA.” Matic stated.
“Iran is set to play 30 warm up games prior of the World Championship. We will start our training from April 10 until the end of the month,” the 50-year-old added.
