Iran's capital relocation not viable
TEHRAN, March 14 (MNA) – Mehdi Chamran, the chairman of Tehran City Council has stated that relocation of the capital is not viable.
“All cities of the country have infrastructure problems, only Tehran has fewer problems in this regard,” Chamran told the Mehr News Agency in Qom on Friday.
He said capital relocation is impossible unless a new city is built.
On the Expediency Council’s proposal for relocation of the capital, Chamran said the proposal was not meant to relocate the capital to other cities, rather to identify a proper place to move the ministries to.
