OIC must fulfill its obligation to defend Palestine: Leader
TEHRAN, Apr. 7 (MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has stated that the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) must fulfill its prime obligation in defending Palestinians.
“The Organization of the Islamic Conference has been established to support Palestine, so it must meet its innate obligation to defend Palestine and must mobilize the Islamic world to counter the insidious moves of the Zionists,” he said in a meeting with a number of high-ranking officials here on Tuesday.
The Muslim world has high capacities to counter the vicious actions of the Zionists, the Leader noted.
For example, the Leader said, the Islamic countries hold the largest oil reserves and form the biggest market for consumer goods and control the most geostrategic positions in the world, and the West has high interests in the Muslim-controlled areas.
He went on to say that the Muslim world can shape international developments even without using these levers and just by presenting its logic to the world.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader called on officials to use all their energy to serve the people.
He also highlighted the important role of religion in people’s life, saying the main reason behind the enemies’ opposition to the Islamic system is that they know it is the people’s faith that keeps them in the scene (against hegemonic powers).
