Iranian movie “About Elly” to premiere in Italy
TEHRAN, Apr. 8 (MNA) -- Iran’s award-winning film “About Elly” will go on screen publicly in Italy beginning May 7.
The film, currently being shown in Belgium, will go on screen in Italy with Italian dubbing from May 7, the film’s international distributer Nasrin Mirshab told the Persian service of ISNA.
“About Elly” will compete at the 17th Titanic International Film Festival in Budapest from April 8 to 18. After that, it will go on screen at the Funchal International Film Festival from April 10 to 17 in Portugal.
The film will also be shown at the Cyprus International Film Festival, which will be held from April 10 to 18, as well as the Happy Soul Festival, which will be held from April 10 to 17 in Britain.
“About Elly” has won several international awards among which are the Silver Bear for best director at the Berlinale 2009 and the Best Narrative Feature category at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2009.
Starring Shahab Hosseini, Golshifteh Farahani, Mani Haqiqi, Saber Abar and Merila Zarei, “About Elly” tells the story of middle class Iranians whose trip to the Caspian Sea turns into a disaster as they try to maintain their social customs.
