AZERBAIJAN CLAIM 7 WORLD KARATE MEDALS
Baku, April 8 (AzerTAc). Azeri karate fighters have brought home a clutch of 7 medals, including one gold from the open championship in USA.
The only gold came from Fayyaz Ildirimzadeh weighing in at 70 kg.
Sanan Aliyev weighing in at 75kg claimed two medals – silver and bronze – in the Under-20 and seniors` events respectively.
Rafiz Hasanov won bronze in the seniors` 75kg class, while Amal Atayev and Niyazi Aliyev grabbed bronze in the 84kg and absolute weight categories respectively.
Azerbaijan`s kumite team finished 3rd in the overall medal table.
