TEHRAN, April 9 (MNA) -- The Iranian ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency has announced that Egypt will attend the international conference on nuclear disarmament in Tehran this month.

Egypt, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement, will send a senior official to the Nuclear Energy for All, Nuclear Weapons for No One conference, which will be held in Tehran from April 17 to 18, Ambassador Ali-Asghar Soltanieh said on Friday.

He stated that IAEA Secretary General Yukiya Amano might also attend the conference.

It has not been confirmed whether Mr. Amano will come to the Tehran meeting, but a high-ranking official will definitely be representing the IAEA at the conference, he added.

He also stated that a senior official from the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) will attend the Tehran disarmament conference.

In addition, he said several countries’ ambassadors to the IAEA will participate in the conference.
