Iran to hold film festival on Persian Gulf at Kish
TEHRAN, April 11 (MNA) -- Iran’s Experimental and Documentary Film Center (EDFC) plans to hold the first film festival on the Persian Gulf in late autumn on Kish Island.
The EDFC director Shafi Aqamohmmadian said that the center aims to hold the Iran’s Cinema Vérité Festival as well this year.
The festival will be held in multiple sections, including feature film, documentary and animations, Aqamohmmadian said.
It will focus on various aspects of the Persian Gulf including geopolitics, ecosystem and natives living in port cities, and art and music of the region, he said.
He went on to say that they had hoped to hold the festival independently but that was not possible, so the Cinema Vérité Festival will be dedicating a special section for Persian Gulf films.
He said that the final negotiations have not been completed yet but they are trying their best to secure facilities for holding the festival as soon as possible.
