Iranian littérateur Nedaii translating Korean poetry
TEHRAN, April 17 (MNA) -- Iran’s Puneh Nedaii is currently translating an anthology of short poems by South Korean poet Ko Un from English into Persian.
I began to translate part of the poetry after I met the poet in person and we agreed on publishing the work in Iran”, Nedaii told the Persian service of MNA.
“The book will contain 120 short poems half of which are already translated and I guess the rest will probably be finished in a few months. The title has not been selected yet,” she said.
Nedaii has also completed the translation of the book “Our Planet is Nature’s Stage” by Korean Zen Master Chang Sik Kim. “The book is waiting to receive a publishing license from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and might reach this year’s Tehran International Book Fair,” she explained.
Nedaii has previously translated the Korean folk tale entitled “Chung, Hyo, Ye”. The book is a collection of tales of filial devotion, loyalty, respect and benevolence taken from the history and folklore of Korea.
