TABRIZ, April 27 (MNA) — Hassan Qashqavi, the deputy foreign minister for consular affairs, has said that Tehran will host two major international events in the future.
“The G15 summit will be held very soon in the Iranian capital. Tehran will also host the heads of state from over 120 countries member to the Non-Aligned Movement in 2011,” Qashqavi said on Monday.
The G15 comprises 17 developing countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America. The group is comprised of Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
Qashqavi who was speaking in the city of Tabriz the capital of East Azarbaijan province, underlined that Tehran is seeking to further promote ties with its northern neighbors mainly with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Qashqavi described ties between Tehran and Baku as amicable. He said Iran is willing to help resolve disputes in the Caucasus regions
Commenting on the West’s policy toward Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, he said attaining peaceful nuclear technology is an inalienable right of the Iranian nation and all other nations who have signed the NPT.
The diplomat also described as a “pure propaganda” the Western claims about human rights violation in Iran.
“Attaining nuclear technology meant for peaceful purposes is an absolute right of Iran and attempts to thwart Iran’s progress by expressing issues like freedom of women are foolish.”
