Iranian rightist politico calles privatization not successful

TEHRAN, April 27 (MNA) -- The Islamic Coalition Party Secretary General Mohammad-Nabi Habibi said the government has not made any major achievement in the privatization process.

“Over the recent years, some works have been done to privatize the state-run organizations and strengthen the private sector, but the steps have not yielded any notable result so far,” the conservative politician told the Mehr New Agency.

Supporting private enterprise is one of the best ways to resolve economic problems such as the ailing production sector or reducing the country’s reliance on oil revenues, he stated.

If the private sector is supported and if the producers manufacture qualitative and competitive goods, then the economy will become stronger and there will be no need to pay subsidies to temporarily relieve problems.
