Britain’s Tate adds two Iranian installations to its collection

TEHRAN, April 28 (MNA) -- Britain’s Tate recently added two installation works by young Iranian artists to its collection.

The two installation works belong to Samira Eskandarfar and Nazgol Ansarinia. “Living Room” is a single screen video, color installation by Ansarinia and “A Dowry for Mahrou” is a single screen video with audio, color installation by Eskandarfar.

This could be a positive step toward promoting Iranian artwork and installation in the international market.

Tate is a family of four art galleries housing the UK’s collection of British and international art. It is comprised of Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives.

Samira Eskandarfar, born in Tehran in 1980, has been active in art with paintings and installation works. Holding over 40 solo and group exhibits is among her credits. She has also produced nine short films and video art collections.

Ansarinia, born in 1970, has worked in the different artistic fields of printing, painting, installation and film.
