Iran to hold training camp in Austria
TEHRAN, May 1 (MNA) -- Iran national football team will hold a training camp in Austria from July 11 to 24 in preparation for the 2011 Asian Cup.
"The camp will be held near Graz which has fine weather. We have negotiated with three European teams to play friendlies against us, but we cannot reveal their names. We will announce the name of the clubs after reaching a final agreement with them,” Abbas Torabian director of the International Relations Committee of Iran Football Federation said.
He went on to say that Iran would not play Slovenia because their football officials have announced that they have no plans for their team after the 2010 World Cup.
Iran has been drawn in the 2011 Asian Cup Group D along with defending champion Iraq as well as North Korea and the UAE.
