Iranian parliament speaker urges prompt submission of giants’ articles of association
TEHRAN, May 2 (MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani called on the administration to promptly submit the articles of association of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) and National Petrochemical Company (NPC) for ratification.
“If the administration delays further to present its drafts of the articles of association for gas, oil, and petrochemical companies, Majlis itself will draw up the drafts,” he said on Saturday.
After the ratification of the Majlis proposal, the administration must implement the law, he asserted.
“But it is better that the administration presents its bill,” he added.
The move came in line with the recently-announced Majlis policy to boost its oversight on the financial transactions and dealings of the state-run companies and organizations.
It is over 17 years that the Petroleum Ministry has not released the details of the gas and oil companies’ constitutions publicly.
