Iran's Judiciary chief vows to deal firmly with financial corruption

TEHRAN, May 3 (MNA) – Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani has said the Judiciary will deal firmly with the financially corrupt officials and elements.

“We won’t allow some people appropriate public funds and properties for themselves and for their children,” Larijani, the Iranian Judiciary chief, said on Sunday.

“If the system had taken firm action against the corrupt elements, today we could see a better situation,” he noted.

When the Judiciary began its plan to deal with the corruption, some elements started clamoring and unfortunately the issue was publicized untimely by certain media outlets, he explained.

Larijani went on to say that the Judiciary does not seek to politicize or publicize the issue, but “we assure the dignified people that the Judiciary will deal firmly and strictly with those who abuse the public properties.”

The Judiciary will not allow some elements to violate peoples’ rights by forging the documents and conducting fraudulent activities, he added.
