Iran ex-minister stabbed in Tehran
TEHRAN, May 4 (MNA) – Former Minister of telecommunications Ahmad Motamedi was assaulted on Monday morning in his office at Tehran Amirkabir University of Technology.
Motamedi, stabbed by an anonymous attacker, was hospitalized with wounds to his chest and underwent an emergency surgery.
According to the reports, the motive for the attack is not yet clear.
“The attacker has been identified and arrested,” a Motamedi’s close relative told reporters.
Motamedi, who is currently a faculty member at Amirkabir University, served as the telecommunications minister during the administration of former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami.
