Foreign Iranologists visiting Tehran Intl. Book Fair

TEHRAN, May 8 (MNA) -- Over thirty Iranologists and Persian language scholars from 12 countries around the globe will be visiting the 23rd Tehran International Book Fair this year.

“32 Iranologists and Persian language scholars have been invited to Iran by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Qahreman Soleimani, the director of the Center for Promotion of Persian Language and Literature told MNA.

“The guests will be visiting the book fair during their one-week stay. They are also expected to attend conferences arranged on the sidelines of the fair. They will be discussing the pathology of translating Persian texts into other languages.”

Soleimani said that the guests are coming from Turkey, Russia, Italy, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and several other countries.

They will be taking a trip to the city of Qom and will also visit the Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Shahbeddin Marashi Najafi Library while there, he added.

“Visiting the Iran National Library and Archives (INLA) and the Iranian Academy of Arts, and attending the Ferdowsi National Day celebration on May 15 are among the other programs arranged for the guests during their stay,” he remarked.

Tehran Intl. Book Fair will run until May 15 at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
