Increase in Iran's hand-woven carpet exports
TEHRAN, May 9 (MNA) – Iran's hand-woven carpet exports increased in both value and volume in the month of Farvardin (March 21 to April 20) in comparison to the same month last year.
According to the Iranian Customs Administration the value of exported carpets reached $13.8 million in the first month of this year from $12.3 million last year.
184 tons of carpets were exported in this year's Farvardin while it was 168 tons in the last year, the report stated.
These numbers show respectively about 12 and 9 percent increase in value and in volume compared to the last year.
Meanwhile, the last year’s exports of hand-woven carpets was 16 percent more in value and 2 percent more in weight compared to the year before.
