Tehran reiterates objective assurance on nuclear swap
TEHRAN, May 12 (MNA) – The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) reiterated on Tuesday that Tehran seeks to obtain concrete assurances for nuclear fuel swap.
Ali Akbar Salehi insisted that Iran should be provided with concrete assurances as a condition for nuclear fuel swap.
“Receiving concrete assurances is the single condition for carrying out nuclear fuel swap,” Salehi told reporters on Tuesday.
Some proposals for nuclear fuel exchange have been made by the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) and some countries, and “we hope that Iran’s main demand that is receiving sufficient guarantee and concrete assurances is met,” he explained.
Salehi did not give details on the assurances that Iran is seeking, but said there have been some proposals on how to give assurances to Iran and Iran is currently examining them.
