Top Iranian, Indian security officials meet

TEHRAN, May 12 (MNA) – Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili met with Indian Deputy National Security Adviser Alok Prasad here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Jalili said Iran is ready to open a new chapter in its relations with India.
He said Iran and India share many historical affinities, adding expansion of ties with India in various areas is a priority for Tehran.
Prasad also called the talks constructive and added they could pave the way for increasing bilateral ties.
He maintained that India is prepared to assume a more active role in consolidating regional security, adding increasing political and economic relations with Iran was high on his country’s agenda.
