Leader to Lula: Cooperation essential to change unfair global system
TEHRAN, May 16 (MNA) – Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that changing the current unjust global system is only possible through establishing close cooperation between independent sates in the world.
“Cooperation and expansion of relations between independent sates is the only way to change the current highly unjust system in the world,” the Leader said in a meeting with Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva who arrived in Tehran last night at the head of 300-strong political and economic delegation.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also praised the Brazilian government for its independent stance toward international issues.
“Based on this principle the Islamic republic of Iran welcomes cooperation with Brazil on mutual and international issues,” the Leader insisted.
Ayatollah Khamenei called Brazil “a great and influential country in Latin America and the world” which he said has changed a lot in recent years.
Brazil has been following an independent policy in contrast to the United States, the Leader explained.
Pointing to the Brazilian president’s remarks that it is necessary to change the UN structure, the Leader said, “Closer relationship between independent states is the only way to change the current highly unjust system in the world.”
