“Good Stalin” author to travel to Tehran
TEHRAN, May 19 (MNA) -- Author of “The Good Stalin” and “Russian Beauty” Viktor Erofeyev will be traveling to Iran on June 15.
The trip has been arranged by Iran’s Nilufar Publications, which has recently released Erofeyev’s autobiography “The Good Stalin”.
According to the publisher, “The Good Stalin”, which was translated into Persian by Zeinab Yunesi, received a warm welcome from Iranian readers at the 23rd Tehran International Book Fair last week.
“The Good Stalin” is Erofeyev’s path to becoming a writer despite strong opposition from his family.
“It’s been my lifelong ambition to travel to Iran” Erofeyev has said in an introduction to the Persian version of “The Good Stalin”.
“However Iran moved toward me and my book’s release in Iran came as a surprise for me,” he stated.
The book has been published in over ten languages.
Erofeyev is an internationally acclaimed writer who struggled with the Soviet System during the 70s and was asked to leave the powerful Writers Union, but was reinstated in the 80s.
He is the author of several fiction and non-fiction works including “The Last Judgment”, “Five Rivers of Life”, and “Encyclopedia of the Russian Soul”.
He is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker magazine and hosts a popular television program in Russia.
