No foreign dependence on Iran's defense system
TEHRNA, May 22 (MNA) – Iran is not dependent on foreign countries for defensive equipment, Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said on Thursday.
Dependence on foreign countries is a sign of weakness, Vahidi said, adding, “We must reach a point where we don’t need any foreign defensive products.”
Stronger link between the industry and armed forces will lead the country towards further independence, he added.
He also highlighted Iran’s capability in manufacturing defensive equipment, adding that the defense industry is planning to employ experts from the army.
