Iranian FM to visit Riyadh

TEHRAN, May 22 (MNA) - Iran’s Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, has been invited to visit Saudi Arabia, a Saudi newspaper has reported.

Mottaki has been officially invited to visit Riyadh by his Saudi counterpart Saud al-Faisal, al-Watan reported.

According to the newspaper, the discussions between Mottaki and Saud al-Faisal will center on ties and the Tehran Declaration according to which Iran would ship its low-enriched uranium (LEU) to Turkey and store it there until it receives higher enriched uranium fuel for its Tehran medical reactor.

Iranian lawmaker Kazem Jalali also told the al-Watan that “Iran-Saudi relation is on the rise and Mottaki will elaborate on the Tehran declaration.”

Jalali, spokesman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said Iran and the Arab nations on the Persian Gulf coast share many “ideal goals”.

Persian Gulf countries will hold many meetings in the future and Tehran will host many Arab officials, the lawmaker announced.
